About Us

Community College Ponorogo was established in 2002 together with around 14 other CC in East Java province. Today there are 18 Ccs in East Java province and around 230 Ccs in all over Indonesia in 2005. In the same year, there were 69 Ccs that can not continue their existence (Suara merdeka, 25 th Januari 2005)..

Community Colleges use Vocational High School to run their programs and they are under university or polytechnic as their supervisor or as the quality assurance. For East Java, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember(ITS) has been pointed as the supervisor. So far, it is proved that ITS become the best among the others in assisting Ccs development, so that they receive award from the president of Indonesia in 2005.

CC Ponorogo is a one year program for students who graduated from high school or vocational high school. Its curriculas are oriented for the developing of Industrial profession that based in polytechnic curricula. So that the graduated students can continue their study for 3 years program and in the 2^nd year. It is the same as articulation program. But for now, not al university or polytechnic can accept the credit. Only in small amount of public university or polytechnic.

For mechatronic program, the graduated students are able to continue their study for 3 years program and all the credit accepted so that they only got 2 years left. Today, there are only two institution that run seamless program in Indonesia, CC of Ponorogo is one of them.

Seamless education is being developed by involving some well known polytechnic in Indonesia, including EEPIS-ITS for IT program. Education will be efficient from its time, cost and accessible factor with the implementation of seamless program that involve CC of Ponorogo and some polytechnic as the institution that guarantee the students to be able to continue their study.

 

Today, CC of Ponorogo offers 3 programs:

1. Mechatronics

    

   This program is held with the partnership of Manufacture Polytechnic of Bandung(Polman). This one year program will prepare the students to be ready for work. Seamless learning with 3 years program in Polman Bandung gives graduated students an opportunity to continue their study and finish the other 2 years in Polman Bandung.This program uses some of workshop inside electrical department building which is part of Jenangan Vocational High School of Ponorogo.

   It is hope that after graduated, students will be able to plan and create automatic control applications. Besides they will be able to maintenance and repair automatic machine within industry. Currently the capacity accepted is 24 students per year and it will be in one class.

   course to learn: Interfacing & Micro controller, Sensor & Transducer, Control System, Digital System, PLC

    

2. Industrial Machine

   Students will be prepared to work in industrial machine field. Graduated students will be able to do mechanical work with the competence of designing and working on manufacture product. This program is held with the partnership of ATMI Surakarta. Students accepted will be 24 per year so it will create a small class.

   course to learn: Technical Drawing, Machine element

   Workshop: Milling, Turning, Grinding, Welding

    

3. Information Technology
   

   This program is held with the partnership of EEPIS-ITS. This one year program provides an opportunity for graduated students to continue their study in EEPIS-ITS and also prepare students to be ready for work on IT field. This program is designed to prepare students to be programmer, maintenance and repair computer and also be able to install Local Area Networking.

   Like the other program, this program also inside vocational high school area and uses a separate building. Currently have two classes, morning class and afternoon class where 30 students on each class. There are around 30 Pentium 4 PC inside the class.

   course to learn: Operating System, Business and Management Application, internet, web design, Turbo Basic programming, Networking(LAN), MS Access, Visual Basic programming, Maintenance and Repair Computer, Database Oracle System.
